WMG signs triathlete Ognjen Stojanovic as a global client

WMG, the premier global media, sports and entertainment company announced today that it has signed most successful South-East European triathlete, Ognjen Stojanovic as a global client.

 

WMG will provide global representation, working closely with his existing team. WMG will also assist in the development of the TRIOGY brand.

 

Serbian most successful triathlete ever, Ognjen Stojanovic, born 1990, first time get in touch with sport in 1995 when he was 5 years old. After unknown bone desease his hip was operated so he was allowed only to swim or bike. He choose swimming, and swam competitively for 11 years. He broke few 10-15 years old national records and become multiple national champion in youth category. 

 

In 2005 after winning triathlon race for fun he found himself in this sport which is actually three sports in one. After a thousand hours in pool, triathlon with all the dynamics it consist, became not just sport for Ognjen, but fun and enjoyment. He practiced all three sports on a daily basis and soon show promising potential for serious results. 

 

In 2006, after just one year of training he became a National junior champion and as soon as 2007 he won sprint triathlon Nationals and also European junior cup in Eilat later that year. 

 

In 2008 Ognjen finished European cup standings on a brilliant second place with 3 podiums and a fabulous win on European cup in Pulpi, Spain with strong field which was almost as a European championships. 

 

Also, he was recognized by ITU Sport Development and participated on Australian Youth Olympic Festival in Sydney on January 2009 where he finished 13th individual and also 4th in relays with ITU SD team. In 2008 he became first ever Balkan senior champion in Olympic distance triathlon while he was still in junior category. 

 

2009 highlight is 4th place from World senior Championships in aquathlon from Gold Coast in Australia. He confirmed dominance on Eastern Europe by winning Balkan championships for second time in a row.

 

So far Ognjen won third consecutive Balkan senior champs titles, and also earn valuable points for Olympic Games spot for London 2012. In July he was officially on simulation list as a participant on summer Olympics in London 2012. This year Ognjen won 2 Central European senior cups, all which he entered so Ognjen once again remain unbeaten by a competitor from central - east Europe and Balkan.

 

From December 2010 Ognjen will be coached by renown coach Sergio Sanots from Portugal with goals to qualify for Olympic Games in 2012 and with that to became first ever Serbian to compete on triathlon on Olympics, and to finish World and European Championships in Top 10 in 2011.
